Limone Apertivo Cocktail
- 50ml Gin
- 25ml Luxardo Limoncello
- 25ml Fennel Tea Syrup
- 20ml Lemon Juice
- 1 Egg White
The dryer palate preference of Italian people was my inspiration behind this drink, and also to create a very light style drink to cleanse the palate before a meal.
Limoncello is recognised as an Italian staple, and there are many little shops in Italy that sell it for consumption and souvenirs in different shaped bottles, and I wanted to match my Gin with this, and Right is very light and citrusy. My glassware is in the classic style of Murano with the black drip stem, and the swan (pictured) I picked up in Venice near Murano itself this month.
Italian people aren't considered tea drinkers (of course more so coffee), but a popular tea to drink is Fennel, which is my justification for my syrup, and adds a slight anise flavour too.
Shake & Fine Strain into a chilled Murano Cocktail Glass and garnish with Jasmine Tea Flowers.
