- 2 dashes Plum Bitters

The creative process is a very weird process… when I found out about Luxardo Cocktail Campione I didn’t yet know what I would serve you, but I knew this would be the first cocktail competition for me that I am encouraged to take part in. I know your products so well, it is almost enough for me to think just about Luxardo Maraschino and surprisingly dry maraschino cherry flavour coming into my head (shots of Limoncello with friends, flaming Sambuca, I cannot forget it either.) However from the beginning, surly it begins with family. In the way I approached the topic, I read all I could find about the Luxardo family, I fathomed its history and understood that family ties are the building blocks that make this brand well known around the world - brand Luxardo… Creating this cocktail I decide to tell you the story of these family bonds, treating each flavour like siblings, siblings of flavour and like siblings of Luxardo. As a starting point I choose my favourite product – Luxardo Maraschino, the oldest brother from all of them, then I had a brainstorm about flavour connotations and as a result I choose lemon (Limoncello), plum (bring Slivovitz to UK please) and black pepper to tell you the story of the Luxardo family. A bit more sweetness of Sanguo Morlacco, the freshness of lemon juice and plum bitters and my story was almost complete… so where’s that pepper you may ask? Well, remember that I am telling story here, and pepper is crucial to complete this story as all siblings are different, but they are still family; pepper flavour as brother to plum, lemon and cherry, and it is my toast to spicy times in the history of the family, none of the siblings, and none of the times can be forgotten… That is my story, so raise your glass… TO FAMILY!!!
- Before, prepare coupette with crusta made of sugar and a bit of grinded pepper. Five muddled black pepper corns in the shaker,
- Shake and double strain into a chilled and crusted coupette glass, enjoy!
